Hello!
Liana is a registered psychotherapist (qualifying) with the CRPO and is a Professional Art Therapist with the Canadian Art Therapy Association.
Liana has been interested in the arts since childhood and decide to pursue various creative paths - including a diploma in Interior decorating from Sheridan College as well as Fine Art/Art History and English from The University of Toronto. Liana worked as a practicing artist for over twenty years and has recognized how therapeutic and healing it can be. Returning to school as an adult with young children, Liana has found new meaning and purpose in supporting others in the therapeutic space.
Liana’s approach is client-centered, strengths-based and draws on themes from IFS, DBT and mindfulness. Art therapy supports a bottom-up approach and incorporates somatic characteristics including the mind-body connection. Art accesses sensory processing and supports nervous system regulation before moving to higher order processes like cognitive and rational thought.
Liana is a mother and wife, and understands the feeling of being pulled in multiple directions. It can be challenging to find a balance that doesn’t feel like you are sacrificing your own needs. Liana has personal experience with perinatal mental health and anxiety, and can help bring care and compassion to your therapeutic experience.
Liana has worked with community partners proving art therapy programming to help support clients who have experienced childhood trauma and sexual assault.
Liana is currently accepting clients 14+.
Creativity connects us all.
